Quirky protest by Greenpeace today at Mt. Megiddo

Here’s their statement:
This morning, Wednesday the 14th October, 25 activists of Greenpeace and the World March staged a “die-in” at Armageddon (Mount Megiddo, North of Israel), the site of the future final battle between good and evil according to Christian tradition.
During the activity the activists opened a huge banner measuring 8 meter by 3 meter saying “Disarmament or Armageddon”.
While Green organizations world wide and even world’s leaders are engaging in the
struggle to save the world from global warming, the activists of the World March, the Humanist movement in Israel and Greenpeace are reminding:
“Mankind can still be destroyed by a single push on the ‘red button’”.
The world nuclear arsenal is over 23,000 Nuclear war heads. 500 hundreds if detonated at the same time, will cause an ice age that will last for 10 years. Mankind as we know it will cease to exist.
Sharon Dolev, Peace and Disarmament Campaigner in Greenpeace Tel Aviv: “The biggest threat to all of us, is also the easiest to abolish. It is time that we will all understand. The bomb presents the biggest threat. The opposite from security and there for, it is time our leaders will stop playing with numbers and set a date for a universal negotiation aiming for a step by step, mutual Disarmament.”
“The arrival of the World March for Peace and Non violence to Israel, reminds us that the struggle for a safe, peaceful world free of Nuclear weapons, is a universal one.”
